Shanti Stupa

Considered as the epitome of peace, this white-domed magnificent Stupa was built in 1991 as a part of the peace pagoda mission and houses ancient relics of the Buddhist culture.

Gurudwara Pathar Sahib

Built in 1517, this famous Gurudwara is dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and houses a scared boulder which is believed to have imprints of the guru.

  • The timings are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on all days.
  • You don’t have to pay any entrance fee.
  • Sunrise is the best time to be here.
  • Dress appropriately and cover your head before entering the Gurudwara.

Spituk Gompa

Dating back to the 15th Century, this magnificent monastery overlooking the Indus Valley is famous for its magnificent statue of Goddess Kali, antique masks and thangkas.

  • The timings for the visitors are from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Keep your noise level to the minimum to maintain the sanctity of the monastery.
  • The entry fee is INR 20 per person.

Stok Palace Museum

Housed within the residential compound of Ladakh’s erstwhile royal family, the museum offers a peek into the fascinating history and lifestyle of the royal family of Ladakh.

  • The timings of the museum are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all days.
  • The entry fee is INR 50 per person.
  • June and September are the best months to be here.
  • Stok Gruru Tsechu is the annual festival which is celebrated in February.
